ABOUT ME |
Hi! I'm Caleb and I love IoT
Heya! My name is Caleb Gimpel and I am a graduate of the School of Mechatronic Systems Engineering at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, Canada. I love travelling and experiencing how diverse our world and cultures can be.
To me, technology is simply an extension of ourselves. Just as our ancestors used simple tools to get what they needed, technology is an extension of our appendages and we use it like it is a part of us. I love working with technology, both at work and in my free time. Come explore some of the projects I've worked on and where I get my experience. I also have a passion for space technology. My first exposure was through the SFU Satellite Design Team where I was the Attitude Determination and Control System team lead; I led the design, manufacturing and testing of two active control systems. I have also teamed up with fellow satellite design members to work on various projects such as a small Hall-effect thruster (HET) and a Combined Artificial Gravity and Exercise (CAGE) system. When I'm not working on space projects, I am probably tinkering with NAS, playing Dungeons and Dragons or cooking some treats for the next time I'm Dungeon Master. |
